EXEGY® honoured at the 2024 Innovation Awards of the Major Projects Division of VINCI Construction

EXEGY® honoured at the 2024 Innovation Awards of the Major Projects Division of VINCI Construction

On Thursday 4 April, the use of EXEGY® Ultra segments in the Line 18 tunnel of the Grand Paris Express won the top award at the final ceremony of the Innovation Awards organised by VINCI Construction's Major Projects Division.

The segments are precast using an ultra-low-carbon concrete formulated with 100% activated slag co-developed and patented with Ecocem. This highly innovative solution reduces CO2 emissions by up to 70%.

VINCI Construction and Ecocem obtained a European Technical Assessment (reference: ETA-21/0746) for the Ecocem Ultra binder, broadening the potential use of the EXEGY® Ultra solution across a wide range of applications on construction sites, while complying with France’s concrete standard NF EN 206+A2/CN (2022).

The formulation is used on two other projects: The Athletes’ Village, at the heart of Universeine in Saint-Denis and an l3F residential programme in La Celle-Saint-Cloud, both in the Greater Paris area.

The award recognises our commitment to promoting the ecological transition and to reducing the carbon footprint of our infrastructure.

We are proud to be contributing on the Grand Paris Express, an ambitious and visionary project designed to improve mobility, social cohesion and economic development in the region. We would like to thank the Major Projects Division for this honour, as well as our partners and our client, La Société des Grands Projets (formerly Société du Grand Paris).

EXEGY® offers low-carbon concrete solutions for construction implemented by VINCI Construction to massively decarbonise concrete.
2030 target: 90% low-carbon concrete on VINCI Construction sites.
