Frédéric Ferrari, Deputy Director of the VINCI Construction South-West Building division and Director of ADIM Occitanie, and Francis Leyrat, Director of Bourdarios, a subsidiary of VINCI Construction, laid the first stone of the “Confluence” inclusive residence in Montauban (southern France) on 19 September, accompanied by Brigitte Barèges, Mayor of Montauban and Chair of the Greater Montauban area.
Developed by ADIM Occitanie, subsidiary of VINCI Construction, the “Confluence” residence represents an inclusive, intergenerational social housing project. The residence has been designed to suit people with disabilities and elderly people, offering a communal style of living and an outward-looking community project. It also seeks to respond to public health and social cohesion concerns in the region.
The property development is composed of 56 one-bed and two-bed rental properties all boasting outdoor space (either a patio or a balcony) over three storeys. On the ground floor, the Forum will serve as a space for people to meet and enjoy a range of activities. A separate area will accommodate a variety of specific temporary services, such as wellbeing and treatment services (including hairdressers, beauty salons, physiotherapists, and social services).
The work carried out by Bourdarios, subsidiary of VINCI Construction, began in June 2023 and is scheduled for completion in September 2024. In order to minimise the project’s environmental footprint, the development will be built using exclusively low-carbon concrete, which reduces greenhouse gas emissions by 19%.
The ready-to-use concrete selected was developed following collaboration between the technical departments from VINCI Construction and Cemex, the local supplier chosen to work on the project. Produced using flash metakaolins, this concrete forms part of Cemex’s sustainable Vertua® product range while also complying with the technical standards required for Exegy®, VINCI Construction’s strategy to systematise the use of low-carbon concretes.
