“CONNEXION LIGNE B” PROJECT – TOULOUSE METRO

GTM Sud-Ouest TP GC (VINCI Construction), as part of a consortium led by Bessac and including Soletanche Bachy (VINCI Construction), is working on the “Connexion Ligne B” project, which aims to connect the existing Line B of the Toulouse metro network to the terminus of the future Line C.

The underground structures in the project include:

  • two “transition structures” – one to the west providing a connection to the existing Line B tunnel, and one to the east linking with the viaduct under construction between Ramonville and Labège; and
  • two single-tube tunnels – each measuring 250 m in length and 4.66 m in internal diameter, with a sharp bend and a tricky stretch under the Canal du Midi. The two tunnels are being made entirely of EXEGY® very-low-carbon concrete containing limestone filler and metakaolin.

The “Connexion Ligne B” project will extend metro Line B by 2.7 km from Ramonville to Labège, adding two new stations – a stop at the “Parc Technologique du Canal” technology park and the terminus at Toulouse Institute of Technology.

Work began in 2023 and is scheduled to take until 2027.
