The project involves the construction of an underground car park with 1,100 spaces on three levels and an underground “square” on two levels (comprised of a partly open lower square and an upper square), combining public areas, a bicycle station with 1,500 spaces, access to non-motorised transport for the metro, a taxi rank, and a dynamic base with shops.

These structures are involved in the transformation to revitalise Lyon’s Part-Dieu district and will play a role in the redevelopment of the area around the bottom of the new To-Lyon tower, which was also built by Citinea and Campenon Bernard Centre Est.

As part of the development of the future Lyon Part-Dieu multimodal transit hub, the teams are also working on the Hall & Galerie Béraudier project, the future Part-Dieu station concourse, as well as infrastructure works and new access points into the station via Avenue Pompidou.

Exegy® solutions implemented

Exegy® low-carbon concrete formulations were developed for this project to minimise the environmental impact of the materials used. Low-carbon concrete was used in all the structures except the car park slabs.

For the upper square, a very low-carbon concrete with a highly aesthetic finish was used to create the “capsules”, the rounded openings imagined by the architect.
