With a lack of space and departments scattered across several sites, the Carémeau University Hospital in Nîmes invested €38 million in a unique building complex bringing together a geriatric unit, a general follow-up and rehabilitation care ward, an infectious and tropical diseases ward and a paediatric day ward.
The complex has a total floor area of 32,200 m2, a capacity of 150 beds (with an additional 100 beds for day cases) and a multi-storey car park with 250 spaces.

A new Exegy® partner for the Occitanie region
For concrete production purposes, Sogea Sud Bâtiment undertook to launch an assessment process focused on local concrete specialists. This protocol, in place since 2020, enables local manufacturers to draw on the expertise of VINCI Construction’s concrete laboratory – in terms of formulation as well as studies and tests – to develop new concrete solutions that meet the specific needs of a worksite. The resulting concrete solutions are reserved exclusively for VINCI Construction for a given period of time, at a competitive price. In return, partner manufacturers can supply concrete to Group worksites in its trading area.
That is how Béton du Gard became the first partner to act as a guarantor of EXEGY® formulations in the Occitanie region, and the concrete solutions used on the Nîmes University Hospital worksite were co-developed and tested by VINCI Construction’s concrete laboratory and Béton du Gard.
